Using Facebook to poll

Using Facebook to poll

by Silvina Hillar

we can create a survey exercise. In this exercise, students can update the content of a table about the likes and dislikes regarding books have already read and video games that they have already played. We can also create two links to websites or embed the poll that we created in Facebook.
We can also ask more people about this sharing the poll on different facebook account or inviting friends to answer it. In this case there are two questions, people should answer with the name of their favourite book and the name of the favourite video game.
Later, students can gather more data for the survey. Apart from that, they can write a report on this topic later.
We have to follow these steps:

1. Enter the following website.
2. Click on New Poll | Form Poll.
3. Complete the necessary blocks in order to design the desired poll.
4. Share the poll or embed it in the virtual classroom.

Protecting Students' Rights and Privacy

There is an organization which protects the rights and privacy of students. Before designing this type of activity it would be advisable to take this into consideration.
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) protects students' rights and privacy. Disclosing personal information of the student should be consented by the parents as well as from the school. You can read more in the following website.
